Madison's
Story

Image of Madds, the creator of mnm chronicles. A smiling girl with wavy brown hair

Hey there:) My name is Madison

I’ve always lived with the prospect “to live deep, to suck out all the marrow of life”.

I think about this quote given to us by Henry David Thoreau in his book Walden, rather often. It’s employed me to go after all my creative and instinctive pursuits. The makings of which, have led me here today.

I’ve been an avid reader and writer since I was quite young. Finding solace in placing pen to paper. I started creating pottery in my first year of college at Moorpark. Realized I loved the possibilities of creation from clay; and recognized my undying love for the Earth it comes from. I transferred to Santa Barbara City College to study Horticulture and got certified in Permaculture Design. I transferred from there to CSU Channel Islands, working to obtain my Bachelors in Environmental Science. I write everyday, I dream of clay at night, I care deeply for the mountains and the seas.

What this is here, is a collection of my life. A chronicle of my creations, ambitions, philosophies, and their creative works. It’s bits and bobs of wisdom and knowledge from reflections on experience and shared stories. It’s earth that has gone through fire time and time again to become resilient and purposeful.

To share this collection of my life’s work and meaning is a great honor. My purpose in doing so is to share my joy, stories, and reflections. Feeling that if it can bring me solace, love and an expansion of awareness, perhaps it may resonate with you too. After all we’re all born from the same stardust.

At heart, Madison Mills is a woman who identifies with nature and all things wild. Finding her true self when in connection to the natural world, she sought to deepen her understanding. Seeking opportunities to get into the field, get her hands in the dirt, and explore the active means of restoration and conservation. Learning of the wisdom that comes from ancient and indigenous people has enlightened her soul. It is her purpose to share this calling, to spark a remembering of the ways we once communed with the land, vitalizing its spirit and ours.

Open journals and books for references in writing.

Writing

I’ve written my reflections toward life since before I could actually write. My collection of journals have grown from pre-mature scribbles, to distinguishable handwriting; documenting every introspection I could and couldn’t quite name. Writing is a soulful practice for me, and something I never dreamed of sharing before. Yet, I’ve grown in age and bravery- and I have this deep sense that my writing may actually serve as some solace, some love and transmission of awareness from the stars in my eyes to yours.

Pottery

If clay is the soil from which we all grow, it has given Madison all the nutrients she needs, and continues to feed her wild soul. Sharing her art is an extension of this gift. Giving a glimpse to the secrets of this life and Earth, and always finding the ever present love and art within it all.
